    Trail Riding Operations

    Trail Boss volunteers wanted!  Please contact Gene Naasko or Sue Vaisey if interested.

    We are looking for new members to join the trail committee.  We occasional meet before the meetings to plan future rides or organize post ride lunches etc.  We are also interested in improving the plans and are looking for suggestions if anyone has them.  We will discuss the campout rides for 2012 before the January meeting.  Anyone interested should contact Sue Vaisey through the Triplebriders@yahoo.com email. 

    Trail & Events Schedule for 2011-2012

    People are asked to sign in at each ride.  Guests of riders also need to sign in and sign a waiver form.  Please see a club officer or trail boss when you arrive.

    Please RSVP if you can so we know how much participation to expect.

    Bring a chair and some lunch if you would like to relax and socialize after the ride.

     

    Trail riding and campout dates for entire upcoming riding season.  The dates are listed below.

    Dec 17 – Old Fashioned Christmas and Holiday Party – Lakeland Historical Society -Kathleen area 4pm see evite for location and directions or call Jim Watkins – there is one tricky intersection.

    Dec 26-Jan 2 - Hampton Tract Campout –  Easy.  Primitive camping in the Florida Green Swamp Wilderness, 18490 Rock Ridge Road Lakeland, FL 33809.  You’ll be riding some of the 28 miles of multiuse trails and camping in a group site with picnic tables, fire rings and / or grills.  There is a pavilion to share meals and socialize.

    Jan 14, 2012 - Ocala Land Bridge Easy to Intermediate.  10 am ride. Part of the Cross Florida Greenway using much of the old Cross Florida Barge Canal.  Key feature is the bridge that crosses I-75 making it safe for equestrians and hikers.  The bridge is fully landscaped with native Florida vegetation.

    Jan 27-29, 2012 - Walk-in-Water Campout/Day Ride – Easy.  10 am ride-out Trail Boss: Gene Naasko

     Feb 2-4, 2012 - Tillis Hill Campout (Citrus Tract, Withlacoochee Forest).  Easy- intermediate.  Join for a day ride or camp with the group.  Day rider parking is adjacent to the stalls and camping.  Sites are still available ($20/night).  High-lines and portable pens can be used behind campsites ($2/day).  There is a waiting list for stalls ($5/day).  We will have a potluck in the dining hall on Saturday night.  If you would like to go on this campout please contact Sue via the club e-mail: triplebrider@yahoo.com  Those with reservations for sites or stalls through Triple B are asked to pay in advance by cash or check to Triple B by January 23rd PO Box 6313 Brandon Fl 33508.

    Feb 11, 2012 - Tenoroc Day ride – Easy.  10am ride-out.– Loop trails so you won’t get lost. Water is available. No dogs.

     Feb 14-20, 2012 - Doe Lake Campout and Banquet Easy – intermediate.  2011 Annual Banquet will be held on Saturday night giving our Northern FL members a chance to attend a meeting and participate in club discussions. Primitive camping, nice bath and toilet facilities.  Check-in and check-out by noon is strictly managed due to Doe Lake site requirements.  Pets welcome while on leashes.  Trail Boss: Gene Naasko; group camp – no designated sites.  Lots of casual riding in gaited and non-gaited groups.

    March 10, 2012 - Alafia State Park – Easy. Ride at 9am Trail Boss: Sherry Patrias/ Sue Vaisey.  Camping available.

    March 17, 2012 - Edward Chance Reserve – Easy. Ride at 9am – Trail Boss: Debi Alfieri

    March 24, 2012 - Lake Louisa State Park Easy to Intermediate.  Ride at 9am.  Camping available, no pets.  Needed - Trail Boss volunteer.

    April 14, 2012 - Little Manatee Day Ride at 9am – Trail Boss: Sue Vaisey/Cathy Moore/Cathy Tuckerman Camping available

    April 28, 2012 - Hampton Tract Day Ride – Easy.  Ride at 9am

    May 12, 2012 - Alafia State Park Easy. Ride 9am. Camping available.

    May 22-28, 2012 - Doe Lake Campout – Trail Boss: Gene Naasko

    If you are planning to attend a club ride, please R.S.V.P using the Evite or call Sue 813-657-2909 or Cathy 813-986-8244 or via e-mail Triplebrider@yahoo.com. This is so we can contact you if there is a cancellation and plan the right amount of food when we do have a picnic.

About Triple B:

The Triple B Riding Club is a family oriented horse club, and has been in existence for about 35 years. We welcome single people as well as families with or without children. Triple B schedules at least one camping/trail riding weekend a month and several day rides a month. We ride in about eight parades a year. We do work in State parks, State Forests and the National Forest making horse camps and trails.

Triple B Club Meetings:

Membership meetings are held the first Monday of each month beginning at 7 PM.  The meetings are held at different locations each month so contact a Club Officer or Board Member for the location.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

Old Welcome - Hwy 39 south towards Alafia River S P from Lithia Piecrust Road at Hwy. 39, Old Welcome road is about 1 mile on your left follow all the way around till you see the gate right before you turn left.
